Real Brides: Kelsey Blake

Real Brides: Kelsey Blake

Kelsey and her new hubby, Eric were married earlier this year in August at Christ the King Church and celebrated with friends and family at the Palomino.

Kelsey’s description of her wedding day theme? “Gardeny-ballroom”.

Uhh… yes please. We are here for THAT!

About Kelsey’s Theme

Kelsey’s wedding theme was a uniquely beautiful blend of dark green and gold adorned with lots of sparkles to complement her gorgeous, beaded L’amour dress. To decorate, our glowing bride incorporated tons of myrtle greenery and soft white roses… the perfect combination for a mid-summer wedding.

To keep her wedding unique, instead of a traditional guest book, Kelsey had a memory table and asked her guests to sign in with their thumb print

She also ditched the traditional bouquet toss, etc. and skipped right on over to getting down on the dance floor.

What was your favorite part about your wedding?

Kelsey favorite part of her day was being in the limo surrounded by all of her friends before the ceremony while she headed out to take pictures during the first look.

The best part of this whole endeavor in our opinion? It was raining and our bride loved it because she thought it was perfect for pictures even if her dress got a little damp.

Kelsey’s other favorite moments were all of the dancing fueled by the best Midwest-style food including mac n’ cheese and mashed potatoes to keep her guests energized throughout the evening.

Tell us about the dress…

During a bridal show Kelsey attended to find a caterer, Kelsey met the Blue House team and scheduled an appointment. Came for a caterer… walked out with a dress appointment. It happens.

It only took a few dresses for Kelsey to narrow it down to “the one”. We may be biased, but we don’t think she could have picked a better dress!

Kelsey’s Advice to Current Brides

Kelsey provided us the reminder that stands the test of time: your wedding is about you and your soon-to-be partner and no one else! Do what feels right to you – be it choosing a dress or writing your guest list. Ask around for vendor recommendations and trust the hands you hire.

For your dress, if you can’t stop thinking about it then it is probably the perfect one. At Blue House, we always joke it’s like choosing a husband – once “you know”, there’s no need to keep dating around… marry him!

Thank you again for making us a small part of your big day, Kelsey. You looked simply stunning and were absolutely beaming with beauty!
